they were beat by a MUCH better team... what do we need to get over the hump against teams in the top 10-15? Category: NCAAB Tags: Flyers lose a tough one.
Nervous about St. Louis Game on February 21February 18, 2009 3:21 pm
After watching the Xavier and Richmond games I am concerned about which UD team is going to show up against St. Louis this Saturday. UD played their best game of the year against X. Then had a less than spectacular game against Richmond. Maybe it was Richmond's motion offense or missing Lowery, but they did not look good. But a win is a win and I will take it. I am concerned that UD tends to play up (or down) to the competition. Also, the week layoff is a concern. Going into this stretch, UD needs to win most of their remaining games and go deep in to the A-10 Tournament to secure their invite to the big dance with a decent seed. Which UD team will show up at St. Louis and does UD have the attitude to live up to their potential? Your thoughts???? Category: NCAAB Tags: UD
DAYTON FLYERS "D" TOP NOTCHFebruary 1, 2009 2:44 pm
While watching the Dayton St. Louis Game, one of the commentaters was Quated as saying that the Dayton Defense was in the same caliber of playing as Duke. He said that both were top in the nation and very simular in the way they play. This is a Huge C ompliment for a team that's not in the Top 25 or 30. They continued to deminstrate their defense abilities today by wearing out the once A-10 undefeated St. Joseph Team who falls to 5-1 and Dayton moves into second with a 6-1 record. Can UD's Defense and depth win in the A-10?December 27, 2008 4:53 pm
Tough to say until conference play begins, but from what I have seen and heard (I've only missed 2 games on CSTV so far), this has to be the deepest team in the A-10 and one of the best defenses in the nation. Last year B-Rob gave us enough offense to win on the road. This year, the challenge is definitely who will fill that role. It doesn't seem like Chris Wright or Marcus Johnson can play the high level D they do, and score consistently in an unfriendly setting (remember-we had more fans in the stands at the Chicago Invitational than our opponents). I hope that coach Gregory will address the 3 pt. and free throw issues that could undermine us in conference play. I'd have these guys shooting 500 free throws a practice right now. This was our achilles last year, and the only reason I can see for us to falter. This is my first post with the group, and I am not a student or even local. Hope you guys will fire this message board up so I can keep informed. Go Flyers! Category: NCAAB |
